The past weeks have been so crazy busy that I’ll only be able to continue our Wizarding adventures after a month. In my last post, I shared our day in Diagon Alley. Today, it’s time for our Hogsmeade experience! 🙂 This is another must-see for Harry Potter fans like me when visiting Universal Studios! It was part of our 2-day pass to get to visit both Universal Studios Florida (where Diagon Alley is) and Universal Studios Islands of Adventure (where Hogsmeade is). The cool thing about getting a 2-day pass is getting to ride the Hogwarts Express which will bring you to both Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade! To read more about this, check out my post A Date in Diagon Alley. 🙂
We waited for the rest of our friends to arrive in Orlando so we can all go together. We started our day early so that it’s not too crowded yet. Hogsmeade is smaller but it’s visually exciting as well. Unlike Diagon Alley thought, that let’s you pass through London landmarks first (to build up your excitement further), this theme park leads you directly right through Hogsmeade from the Hogwarts Express.

Entrance and exit from Hogwarts Express. If you’re coming from Diagon Alley this is where you’ll get off.
As soon as we arrived, our plan was to finish off the rides that we want to try. Their most famous rides are the Dueling Dragons/ Dragon Challenge and the Forbidden Journey ride (inside Hogwarts) which I absolutely loved! I didn’t try the Dragon Challenge though since I’m scared of heights and it looked too intimidating.
Inside Hogsmeade, you’ll also get to see Hogwarts at the far end. It was so exciting to see it right there for real! Just as you imagined it from the book and seen it from the movie!
I’m not fond of roller coasters but because of my love for Harry Potter, I wanted to try the rides that had visual effects of the story. I want to feel like I’m part of the movie. That’s why I rode the Escape from Gringgots in Diagon Alley and the Forbidden Journey here inside Hogwarts. I love how they made everything inside the castle interactive to give you the best and most accurate experience. The photos on the wall are moving, the portraits are talking to each other, and the Fat Lady talks to you!
The Forbidden Journey ride was amazing! It’s my favorite Harry Potter ride! I love it because it came from parts of the book that was exciting and happy and the visuals and effects was really good. It will really make you feel like you’re part of the story. The fan in me almost made me cry in the end of the ride lol. We would have ridden it again if not for the very long lines. Instead, we all had lunch at The Three Broomsticks. 🙂
Here are some of our last photos around Hogsmeade before we went on to the other parts of Islands of Adventures. Overall, you can easily explore Hogsmeade in half a day since it’s smaller. So it’s best to do the 2-day ticket pass and go on to Diagon Alley to maximize your Harry Potter experience.
Other things to explore in Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure are Jurassic Park, Marvel Super Hero Island and Seuss Landing! 🙂 We all had fun here! We met our favorite Marvel superheroes. I had a picture with Captain America, chitchatted with Spiderman and even had him say hi to my nephew who’s a big fan! 🙂 Seuss Landing was also very cute to explore. I also had a photo with some of the book characters.
This day was a blast it was really fun that I can’t wait to go back. I’d definitely want to bring my nephew Dwayne here who’s a big Avengers fan! Someday soon we’ll be back Orlando! 🙂
