The Farm Escape

For our 2nd anniversary, we wanted to celebrate by going somewhere new but near. Since it’s a busy time, we can’t get away for more than 2 days so we decided to go to The Farm at Batangas since it’s just a little over a 2-hour drive from the city. Our trip was initially booked for July 21-22 right in time for our anniversary but since typhoon Glenda came that time last week, we decided to push back our trip to the following week which was this one.

So yesterday, we drove to Batangas in the morning and stopped first by Mount Carmel Church for our monthly visit to pray to Mama Mary. The Farm was just a 30-40 minute drive from there. We left Manila at 10AM and did a quick stop by the church and we arrived at The Farm at around a little before 1PM. The place gives a feel of a very private property quite hidden from everything else. You have to drive on and on inside the small towns of Batangas following their small signs until you see a big gate to the property. Upon arrival, I noticed the warm welcome from their staff. The attendant who welcomed us is named Mona and she immediately chatted us like we were long lost friends as we checked in, mentioning that they know we’re celebrating our wedding anniversary (I noted the occasion during the online reservation) and how they have arranged a surprise for us. She was so excited to say what the surprise was but kept saying she’ll reveal it later. I thought it was the usual special arrangement inside our room which other hotels do.

But little did we know that it was actually an upgrade! I love room upgrades! As Mona and the other staff were bringing us to our room, Mona revealed that they are actually bringing us to the villas as they are giving us a complimentary upgrade to a Garden Villa for our wedding anniversary treat! 🙂 We were just so happy and grateful for this treat! The Villa was so nice and I love gardens haha! And we were even surprised to see a group of peacocks by our garden! Seeing our Villa made me wish we could stay longer. It’s too bad we were only staying for 1 night but we were happy to be able to get the best experience given our very short break.

It was a long but scenic drive. And with the help of “manong” tricycle driver and with some signs, we easily found it.

We immediately loved the serenity and the close to nature, relaxing feel of the entire place. I’ve always liked being outdoors or being close to nature so the place appealed to me.  Ken loved that it’s actually an all-natural rejuvenating sanctuary complete with medical facility and healing treatments. You can really enjoy a holistic detox in mind and body. Vegans would love this place all the more because of their menu which was all-natural, all-organic, no meat, no dairy. This was the challenge for us since Ken and I are both meat lovers and junkies haha. It’s funny because knowing this, we came a bit prepared. We brought some chips, a chocolate bar and even a slice of chocolate cake! 😀

Overall, our short but sweet stay at The Farm was very enjoyable. It was very relaxing which was just what we needed. I especially loved that they have simple learning and relaxing activities planned everyday for their guests like outdoor yoga, aqua aero, etc. On our first day, Ken and I did outdoor yoga overlooking their beautiful view. Then we swam in the infinity pool in the healing sanctuary beside our Villa. And this morning, I went to their flower arrangement class where I learned how to do a Mandala flower arrangement while Ken went on their coconut tour and learned how to make coconut oil. Simple activities such as these give guests like us new experiences and we really enjoyed it.

I would like to keep going back to this place. It’s perfect for pure relaxation but hopefully, they can add more items on their menu which is not purely vegan. 🙂
